Rio Zebo (above left) is a clean polled Jacob Rio son we have retained in the stud.  This is an exceptional young bull that we believe will pass the traits of his dam onto his daughters.  His dam is a clean polled blue tag Red Dollar cow with a perfect calving record and a very good udder with strong suspensory ligaments.   The maternal traits of a cow like this can not be underestimated.  Rio Zebo is a 4 star for tenderness, has a wonderful nature and will take us further in our quest to breed high quality polled red Brahman cattle.

Dazzler's genestar tenderness rating of 7 stars as well as being polled and light pigment means he has a lot to offer the cattle industry regardless of breed.  To date there has only been one other bull in the Brahman breed identified as a 7 star for tenderness.  To achieve the high result Dazzler is carrying two copies of the T-2 gene marker, which is of very low prevalence in the Brahman breed as well as a number of other breeds.  Dazzler is sired by 4 star tenderness home bred polled sire Fairy Springs Penne-E-Rama 2337 (P) who's sire and grandsire are also polled.  Dazzler shows a lot of sire appeal, strong topline and clean sheath.  He is out of a very good cow with a perfect udder.

Our top Red Polled sire, Jacob Rio, is now one of the most talked about sires in the Red Brahman breed. The interest shown in this bull from breeders here in Australia, as well as from overseas, reinforces our belief in this exceptional bull. While his tremendous bone, natural muscling, and breed character are his obvious attributes, his ability to produce consistent progeny impresses us even more. We now have the opportunity to assess his daughters with calves at foot and we are very pleased with these females. At the Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale 2001, 14 Jacob Rio sons averaged $14,100, selling to $32,500 and registering the top sale average for red bulls. This was followed in 2002 when 14 bulls sold to average $14,964 again registering the top average for red bulls with a high of $55,000 being the top priced Brahman bull sold in 2002.

Red Dollar is a polled bull that has been used extensively in the stud. His daughters are some of the top producing females in the herd. They are very long, feminine, fertile females with exceptional udders and teats. His sire LC Penne-e-father is a son of Cherokee LA Dollar, who was one of the top polled red sires in the Cherokee stud. Penne-e-father produced outstanding females and along with Red Dollar cows are crossing extremely well with our top sire Huonfels Jacob Rio. We are offering limited semen in this bull as he is now deceased and we are continuing to use him in our own AI programme.  The purchase of his son, Abbotsford Duracell, for use in the Fairy Springs herd proves our trust in the Red Dollar genetics.

Red Domino is a light pigment son of Avondale Eveready, one of the top red sires of the 1970's.  He is out of our top show cow, Fairy Springs Deanna, a daughter of Fairy Springs Red Dollar.  He was used lightly in the stud before his untimely death.  We are very impressed with his calves to date.  They are a very even red colour, showing plenty of thickness, good temperament, and a fair percentage of light pigment calves.  We thoroughly recommend this bull for crossbreeding purposes and to Droughtmaster breeders in particular.
