2008 Charters Towers Bull Sale - Fairy Springs Brahmans, Monto, Queensland, Australia.

Eddie and Debbie are heading to Big Country sale, Charters Towers in 2008 with an impressive team of nine bulls. They will be trying to emulate the 2007 result where Fairy Springs topped the reds at $40,000 for Fairy Springs Epic and averaged $13,500 for five bulls.

Of the nine bulls on offer this year, five are polled including four sons of Huonfels Jacob Rio and one by Lanes Creek Red Montague.

Leading the draft is the polled Fairy Springs Index 3066. A high quality young bull by Jacob Rio out of a Red Dollar cow. This cross is working well in the stud, with two bulls sold in 2007 for $40,000 each being of similar bloodline.

Other polled bulls sure to impress buyers are Fairy Springs Hero 2903 by Jacob Rio and Fairy Springs Montana 2918, a son of Lanes Creek Red Montague.

All bulls have Genestar results and semen tests.

LOT 28 Fairy Springs Montana 2918 (P) Montana is a long bodied young polled sire displaying excellent growth for age, good skin type and is a lovely red. He is developing well with age and is a bull we think a lot of. Full brother sold last year to Corliss Cattle Co. for $6,500. LOT 29 Fairy Springs Omah 3038 (P) A big upstanding polled sire displaying excellent breed character with a clean sheath and strong muscling. Out of a very good Red Dollar female with two full brothers sold to Bungoona and La Belle studs. He is a 5 star for tenderness which is an added bonus. LOT 32 Fairy Springs Armitage 3022 Armitage is an excellent quality young sire with a strong topline and good hindquarter. Square right through the body with lots of sire appeal. He is a full brother to Fairy Springs Madras, sold to Big Red stud in 2002 for $24,000 and Fairy Springs Amanda sold to Sam Graham at Gympie Female sale in 2006 for $10,000. Out of a great cow.
