FAIRY SPRINGS FOCUS ON FEMALES FOR BEEF 2006

Following a terrific response to their site at Beef 2003, Eddie and Debbie Streeter, son Joe and daughter Sarah are looking forward to another great event this year.  

The previous triennial exhibition saw the Fairy Springs site awarded ‘Best Trade Fair Display’ of the show.  Plenty of accolades were received for the daily taste test of their own grass fed pure Brahman beef, which was a positive reflection of the meat quality potential of the Brahman breed.   

This year, Fairy Springs will be ‘Focusing on Females’ for Beef 2006.  A selection of cow/calf pairs and replacement females will be exhibited, which the Streeters are hoping will give visitors an insight into the direction of their herd breeding.  Also on display will be Fairy Springs Red Leader (sire: Abbotsford Duracell), who sold at the Charters Towers Big Country Sale in January, setting the Australian Record Price for a red polled Brahman Bull sold at auction.  

At 2:00pm daily, Mr Streeter will be initiating an open discussion on key issues with fertility in females and bulls, and the correlation that he has observed between femininity, fertility and meat eating quality.  All are welcomed to drop in for light refreshments, and to enjoy the interactive discussion.  

In celebration of the event, all visitors to the Fairy Springs site can enter into a daily draw for the chance to win a 10 straw semen package of their choice.  Each package may be up to the value of $3,000.  Sires of choice include: Huonfels Jacob Rio (P), Fairy Springs Red Domino, Fairy Springs Red Dollar (P) and Abbotsford Duracell (P). Also, Fairy Springs will be offering a 20% discount on semen orders placed during Beef 2006.
