I would like to inform past and future clients that our draft of bulls has been withdrawn from the Rockhampton Brahman Week sale.  It is not a decision that has been made lightly.  It is a decision that was made by myself, Debbie, Joe and Sarah and is something that has probably been coming for a couple of years.  We realise we should have made this decision before nominations closed but that wasn't to be.  We've been selling at RBWS in our own right for the past 23 years and have been preparing bulls for over 30 years and have achieved more success than we ever could have hoped for and have had some tremendous highs.

My health is not the best and Debbie says she has lifted enough drums of grain to do her a lifetime.  On a more serious note, we are moving in a different direction and preparing bulls for auction sale will not be a part of it.  We are moving to cater more for the commercial environment and marketing bulls from Narbethong with a limited amount of preparation.  We plan to still breed a few top bulls to retain in the stud and/or release to stud breeders but our focus will be on marketing bulls to our commercial clients.

Over the past few years we have tried to be very selective in our breeding programme to breed cattle that are functional and that we can be confident will perform well for our clients in the paddock on grass.  We have found that the phenotype of our bulls is changing and we find it harder to get these cattle to fit into the square that the Brahman Week market demands.

We realise we would not be where we are today without the success we have achieved at Brahman Week over the years.  We wish all vendors well with this years sale and our door is always open.
